Jean Monnet Chair 2013 - Lectures for an Active Participation towards the European Cohesion

The aims and objectives of the present project proposal are those of strengthening the reflection about European Integration studies among those target group addressed by the JMC. Particularly, the proposed chair intends to work on some of the Specific and Operational objectives of JEA: on one hand there is the need to work on teaching and research side that is to support teaching activities based on European issues stimulating excellence, while on the other these studies need to be communicate, disseminate among not only specialist but citizens in order to make them aware about European citizenship and the importance of European integration to built a strong and conscious Europe.
 
The creation of a Jean Monnet Chair ad personam on the European integration, related to economic and development issues and even on important aspects such as the new programming period and the challenges that Europe will be facing in the next years (structural fund, Europe 2020, climate change, research and so on) appears of particular importance now that we are across the end and the beginning of the future programming period 2014-2020. The project aims at analyzing those important challenges and their impact on the EU assets. Particular attention will be devoted to the institutional aspects, economic aspects the way the crisis impact on European socio and economic development. 
 
Moreover, a number of specific policies and intervention areas will be monitored and examined with a view to assess the practical added value of the growing Europe through the years and so understand the importance of following the need of growing awareness among students and citizens.
