The project aims at contributing to our understanding of the diffusion processes and of the effects of innovation and knowledge in space. The project entails the production of a consistent database for the state of the art in innovation and knowledge; the comparison with the EU and national data; the identification of the most important inter-regional spillover mechanisms; an inventive approach with the scientific answers to the policy questions; the identification of new development opportunities through innovation for Europe and its territories.
