The International Workshop on Determinants and Effects of Interregional Mobility organised by CRENoS, DEIR and the Unversity of Southampton, brought to the seaside town of Alghero some of the top international experts on migration. 

Speakers included:

• Prof. Jaques Poot from the University of Waikato (New Zealand),
• Prof. Dave Maré from the University of Waikato (New Zealand),
• Prof. Mark Partridge from Ohio State University (USA),
• Prof. Philip McCann from Ohio State University (USA)
• Prof. Jouke Van Dijk the University of Groningen (NL).

This event was the first step towards creating an international network on the theme of migration, spanning three continents: North America, Europe and Oceania.
