SEARCH Project is pleased to announce the Final SEARCH Academic Conference: How to strengthen EU - NCs relationships that will be held on February 10th-11th 2014 at the University of Barcelona.

The European Union’s relations with its Southern and Eastern neighbours will be the focus of the Final SEARCH Academic Conference.

Organized by the EU-funded research project SEARCH (FP-SSH-2010-2.2.1), the Conference is open to attendance and to present papers by all interested parties.

 

The SEARCH consortium is exploring the integration process between the EU and its Neighbourhood Countries (which include non-EU states in Eastern Europe, the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa).

Representatives of the SEARCH consortium and external academics will present their findings at the Conference, highlighting the issues related with the following topics:

 

(a) Trade flows, FDI and location choices.

(b) Migration, human capital and social capital.

(c) Technological activities and innovation diffusion in the EU and interactions with Neighbouring regions.

(d) Social, cultural and institutional environment.

 

 

Call for papers

 

The accepted papers will be presented in plenary sessions that will complement the 2 keynote speakers’ presentations. Abstracts of the Papers (500-800 words) should be sent in pdf format to search.project@ub.edu before September 15th, 2013. Detailed abstracts will also be considered, but full papers will be favoured. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered for one presenter of each selected paper. Ten papers will be selected to be presented in this Conference.

 

Final Papers should have a length of 12-15.000 words.

 

Deadline for abstracts of the papers submission: September 15th 2013.

Selection decision on the abstracts to be announced: October 8th 2013.

Preliminary programme: October 30th 2013.

Deadline for full Papers submission: December 20th 2013.

Final programme: January 10th 2014.
